Let's explain this in a way even the most ideologically blinded Naderite might understand.

Suppose you live in a country, population 100. About half the people are vegan sociology majors/sierra club members. The other half divide their time between watching The Jewelry Network and Scarborough Country. Ralph Nader, Noam Chomsky, and Jerry Fawell are running for president.

Jerry Fawell gets 49 votes. Ralph Nader gets 47 votes. Noam Chomsky gets 4 votes. Diebold touchscreen machines are not used.

I realize that Fawell and Nader are indistinguishable since they are both hypocrites and documented liars, since both have busted unionizing attempts in their respective organizations, invested heavily in Fidelity Mutual Funds, and have happily taken GOP money; but who would have won if Noam had pulled out of the race?

Don't like my example? How about explaining in detail exactly how Nader is going to cost Chimp more votes than he is Kerry. How about explaining the fact that in head to head polls Kerry fares better than in polls which include Nader?


The bottom line: Anyone who trusts a documented liar (see Moore, the Village Voice, transcripts of Ralph's 2K Bore-Gush shtick.) ought to examine their gullibility problem. Conversely should I examine my visceral hatred of Ralph? Sure, I'll do that right now.....I have now checked my visceral hatred of hypocritical, union busting, megalomaniacal liars and it appears to functioning soundly.

Gore WON the election

Nader knows that the Congress is controlled by Republicans who will never even consider impeaching Bush.

Nader will rile up the anti-war people (including me) who will displace their anger on Kerry and then vote for Nader. These votes will have the same effect they had in 2000. Bush will stay in the White House where he will have the power to appoint more Scalias to the Supreme Court.

Don't be a dummy--vote Kerry. At least he will not put another Scalia on the Supreme Court. And he will not appoint another Powell to the FCC so that Clear Channel and Fox can legally get more and more outlets.

Remember--Nader helped Bush get where he is today! There would be no Iraq war without Nader.
