U.S. to reveal alleged Nazi sympathizers

Washington — The government is opening thousands of records showing that the FBI and other agencies ignored murky pasts of alleged Nazi collaborators living in the United States.

Government historian Norman Goda, in a collaborative book based on records being released Thursday at the National Archives, said the FBI “did not dig deep for the truth” on these people because it wanted them on the U.S. side in the Cold War.

Among them was Viorel Trifa, an alleged student leader in Romania's fascist Iron Guard movement who became bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Church in the United States and once led prayers in Congress.

In the thousands of files released, the CIA also is shown seeking the Immigration and Naturalization Service's help in easing travel in and out of America for Mykola Lebed, a Ukrainian accused of aiding German storm troopers in brutal suppression of local resistance during the Second World War.

All that fascism and Nazism were are last-ditch weapons for the bosses. "Mainstream democratic" capitalists showed no problem using fascism in order to decimate unions and progressive political parties. This is yet another reason the second amendment must be defended--for all.

Either way what is the relevance of 322 in that image and what is the info on that image ?

Mr. Goda said the documents show that the INS was not, as long thought, “asleep at the switch” during the years when many Nazi sympathizers made it into the United States. “They tried to institute proceedings against these people,” he said, only to be thwarted by the FBI, CIA or others in government.

Might have relevance to how al Quaida operatives were allowed to enter, live, work, and learn to fly airplanes in the U.S. leading up to 9/11.

Makes me wonder if the CIA and FBI didn't just know that they were here, but actually helped them enter the U.S.

The government saw Nazi sympathizers as useful in countering any pro-communist leanings in immigrant communities in the United States, and the CIA and other agencies sometimes thwarted immigration authorities from beginning deportation proceedings, the records show.
