1. don't get the logic
of bombing an arab embassy. maybe the jordanians are considered collaborators?

i could see that reasoning...

3. That's what the whole story said.

But it's double-edged. The bomb attack was due to Jordan's "support" of US during
the war. But the citizen looting an rioting after the bomb is due to Jordan's offer
of safe haven to Saddam's daughters.

Odd.

2. Another piece with some interesting bits:
http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20030807.wjord0807_5/BNStory/International/

Shortly after the
blast, young Iraqi
men stormed the
embassy gate and
began destroying
pictures of Jordanian King Abdullah II and his late father, King Hussein.
They were shouting anti-Jordanian chants but were quickly dispersed by
U.S. forces and Iraqi police.

---

Also among the captured were two former Iraqi generals suspected of
organizing guerrilla attacks nationwide and a suspected Fedayeen militia
ringleader, said Lieutenant-Colonel Steve Russell of the 4th Infantry
Division, which carried out the raids.

Col. Russell declined to name any of them, but said one of the leaders was
known as "The Rock."

---

Later Thursday, a fierce gunbattle broke out in central Baghdad, wounding at
least two U.S. soldiers. The violence followed a firefight the night before in
which two U.S. soldiers were killed, the military announced.

6. Could this be because
Jordan gave refuge to Sadaam's daughters?
