Fahrenheit 9/11 could light fire under Bush
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uselections2004/story/0,13918,1218376,00.html

Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 is without doubt the most flaming-hot ticket at the Cannes film festival. And with good reason: Moore hopes that it will bring down the US government.

The American film-maker has hitherto kept a tight lid on the contents of the documentary, saying only that it includes evidence of alleged links between the Bush and Bin Laden families. However, in two appearances in Cannes at the weekend before its premiere today, he revealed that the movie contains shocking footage from Iraq.

Yesterday he said: "When you see the movie you will see things you have never seen before, you will learn things you have never known before. Half the movie is about Iraq - we were able to get film crews embedded with American troops without them knowing that it was Michael Moore. They are totally fucked."

On Saturday he said: "The film is only partly to do with the Bin Ladens and Bush. I was able to send three different freelance film crews to Iraq. Soldiers had written to me to express their disillusionment with the war. It's a case of our own troops not being in support of their commander-in-chief."

He said that at the few low-key preview screenings that have already taken place in the midwest "the reactions were overwhelming. People who were on the fence - undecided voters - suddenly weren't on the fence any more."

2. Could name a few other things to stay away from. Tall buildings?
unstable foreign countries, large strange cities, expansive wilderness areas. Having the cabal W/ arbusto as the figure head, all things are possible (but most seem like bad type ones with that bunch)

12. YES!!!
The truth is getting out about Bush's betrayal of truth to Americans about Iraq! At last! I've never seen the conservative sheeple in more of a tizzy fit than they are now in. But the true sick Bushie sheeple could care less if he authorized torture and violated Geneva Convention rules and probably dooming our captured troops to inhumane torture because of Bush's actions in the future. They got their blinders on and they're voting Bush.
What a bunch of wimps and anti-Americans.

10. Moore should bypass theaters and send this straight to video . . .
then everyone can buy or rent it and view it at home with friends and family . . . he won't make as much money, but more people will see the film before November . . .

... he could still do both. Hit the theaters for a few months, while the DVDs are being created.

27. I wonder if he'd mind
it being distributed via BitTorrent?

Well, regardless of whether he minds or not, it'll certainly be up on BitTorrent sites soon. Then it doesn't matter what the powers-that-be do, there will be no way to censor or hide from it.

So I guess I've answered my own question.

15. great article depicting Moore's movie...
NYT:

A Film to Polarize Along Party Lines

By JIM RUTENBERG

The Michael Moore documentary the Walt Disney Company deemed too partisan to distribute offers few new revelations about the connections between President Bush and prominent Saudi Arabian families, including that of Osama bin Laden.

But this film, "Fahrenheit 9/11," which is scheduled to make its debut today at the Cannes International Film Festival, contains stark images of civilian casualties and disillusioned soldiers from the Iraq war zone that have rarely, if ever, been shown on American television. And the muckracking craft evident in this nearly two-hour attack on President Bush's tenure in the White House is likely to have a galvanizing effect among both conservatives and liberals should the film be widely distributed this summer.

A reporter for The New York Times was invited to a screening of the film last week. "Fahrenheit 9/11" focuses on longstanding ties between the Bush family, its associates and prominent Saudis and on whether those ties clouded the president's judgment in recognizing warning signs before the Sept. 11 attacks and hampered his response afterward.

But Republicans predict many viewers will discount the film as an anti-Bush screed, and that it will ultimately have no effect on the election. Democrats say they hope it will feed growing discontent in the United States with Mr. Bush's Iraq policy and help the campaign of Senator John Kerry, his presumptive Democratic challenger. After hearing a description of the some of the connections made in the film, Dan Bartlett, the White House communications director, said, "It's so outrageously false, it's not even worth comment."

This film is gonna kill the * government. (If they'll allow it to be released in the US.)

17. Oh yeah, Dan Fucking Bartlett. The guy who laundered bush's
national guard records, so there wouldn't be anything in them that might be embarrassing to the (then) governor.

Dan Fucking Bartlett. He has as much to say about this that's credible, as Hitler would say about the joys of celebrating Hannukah.
