Good reason NOT to buy at Home Depot.

ATLANTA (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) visited Atlanta's leafy Buckhead neighborhood on Monday to raise $3.2 million for Republican candidates at a private fund-raiser hosted by the chief executive of Home Depot Inc.

About 500 people paid $4,000 per couple to attend a reception with the Republican president, and $15,000 per couple for a dinner that featured Coca-Cola marinated sirloin, a Republican campaign official said.

The fund-raiser benefited a Republican National Committee (news - web sites) program that funnels money to party candidates across the United States.

The reception and dinner were hosted by Bob Nardelli, chairman, chief executive and president of the Atlanta-based retail home improvement chain Home Depot, and his wife Sue.

1. We were there.
Not much to report. They had us so far away I never even saw the motorcade.
Probably 30 or 40 there. Some press. Hey, we made a showing!

3. I went to the Home Despot web site and sent an email
stating that I will permanently boycott Home Depot for their support of the unelected resident and his failed economy and war.

Email link is on their web site. Please everyone here do likewise!

5. Does Zell know how to eat Coca-cola marinated sirloin without silverware?
He was probably in attendance.

Or, maybe they just provided some trowels and shovels from the garden department at Home Depot.

Bon apetit!

10. Home Depot is now on my boycott list
My partner and I have spent quite a bit there this year, but I'll find a Lowes or something else from now on. A couple of years ago their board voted to not extend benefits to domestic partners. The obscene fundraiser is just the icing on the cake for me.

Did any of you see this article from 11 alive? WTG!!

I would love to join in on a protest, but I don't know where you find out about them.
