May 18 (Bloomberg) -- Four people were arrested in connection with the beheading of Nick Berg, an American seeking work in Iraq, Agence France-Presse reported, citing unidentified Iraqi officials.
Further information on the suspects and their links to the case wasn't immediately available.
The title of a videotape showing 26-year-old Berg's death indicates that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a Jordanian national believed to be affiliated with al-Qaeda, is the masked man who carried out the killing. Al-Zarqawi is wanted in connection with the murder of a U.S. aid official in Jordan.
Al-Zarqawi may be tied to the killing yesterday of Izzedine Salim, the leader of the Iraq's interim Governing Council, U.S. Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt said in a televised briefing from Baghgad yesterday.
