Behind Fame, Actor's Policies Are a Mystery

Schwarzenegger Has 60 Days to Define Self

Friday, August 8, 2003; Page A01

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7 -- The famed bodybuilder that film director George Butler became friends with more than two decades ago never would have had a prayer as a political figure in today's California.

"When I first got to know him, his politics were to the right of Genghis Khan," said Butler, whose 1977 documentary "Pumping Iron" launched Arnold Schwarzenegger's long, lucrative celebrity career.

That was before Schwarzenegger joined Hollywood's elite. Or married journalist Maria Shriver, a member of America's Democratic royal family, the Kennedys. Or saw Los Angeles engulfed in rioting. Or knew that his father belonged to the Nazi party during World War II.

(snip)

He is a Republican who loathed the GOP's campaign to impeach then-President Bill Clinton, telling George magazine in 1999 that he would "never forgive" his party for that. "We spent one year wasting time because there was a human failure," he told the magazine. "I was ashamed to call myself a Republican during that period."

ARNOLD'S MISTRESS

HIS SHOCKING 7-YEAR AFFAIR

http://www.nationalenquirer.com/stories/feature.cfm?instanceid=11259

For seven years, Arnold Schwarzenegger hid a mistress from his loving wife Maria Shriver -- and hours after learning The ENQUIRER discovered his sordid secret, "The Terminator" terminated his run for governor of California.

The brazen actor began his affair with former child actress Gigi Goyette when she was only 16 -- and even made love to her in the very same hotel where he was staying with "Dateline" star Maria.

A bombshell ENQUIRER investigation -- featured in our issue that hits the stands Friday -- has exposed the whole shocking story, including how the father of four hid the trysts from his family.

Several months ago the muscleman-turned-actor emerged as a leading Republican contender for governor of California -- but earlier this week, after we called his representative for comment, the star made a surprise announcement that he won't enter politics until his youngsters, ages 3 to 11, are older.

5. The more dish that gets out about this man the better.
Arnold the unfaithful spawn of a Nazi. Whatever. I don't care.

This man proved from his speech last night that he is absolutely not qualified to hold public office. He made dubya sound eloquent. (Maybe that's the point).

Why in the hell does Maria stay with him?

7. I wonder what Marilyn Monroe would say about all of this?
"There's no business like show business"

"Let's make love"

OR,

"Something's got to give"?

8. For Arnie, it was just a case of
The Seven-Year Itch. Hope he didn't pass it on to Maria.

9. Well, that's ok
Even though Ahnold knows nothing about policy or how to govern or how to put together a budget, he can just surround himself with really brilliant people to handle these things. After all, it's what George W. Bush did, and it hasn't been a problem at all.

10. Don;t take that to lightly.
Interviews in todays S.F.Chronicle have people saying they would vote for him because he will suround himself with smart people and it will be ok. People do believe that acting and star power are good governor skills. We did have Reagan here on acting credentials.

11. yeah, but...
Reagan could actually ACT. (Not really WELL, mind you, but he was a professional)

Ahnold Schickelgruber isn't an actor. He's a muscle-bound male bimbo with a tiny schtick.

12. I think Kenny from "South Park"
has more class than this muscle man, 'eh?

Steroids make the penis exceptionally small, so I guess it's true that Schwarzenegger is the only cat in Hollywood
that can get a dime out of quart milk bottle with his tongue.

14. "That" is very important!
I think he does support same sex marriage actually, is the funny thing. He's probably "to the left" of Davis on that one. Arnie's always been OK with that, with him in gay porn and all... I think, more than anything, the right needs to be made aware of this. I want him to stand up for pro-gay policies in the GOP. Maybe he could at least make himself a bit useful...
