House of Representatives passes Budget
Just happened. No link yet

--------------YEA---NAY---PRES---NV
Republican----216---9-------------3
Democratic----------203-----------2
Independent---------1------------
Totals--------216---213-----------5

All democrats present voted no so that is good. But, republicans have the majority so there isn't much we can do. Maybe we can win in the Senate. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Ben Nelson (D-NE) are probably the key swing votes there.

3. I heard on CNN that they are
expecting to have an uphill battle in the senate on this. Any budget that Hastert says is good must translate into=good for him.

4. That seems true
I don't think that there are PAYGO provisions for the tax cuts and Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and Ben Nelson wanted PAYGO for tax cuts. They probably will resist voting for the budget and Lincoln Chafee and John McCain will almost certainly oppose the budget. So, the republicans are going to have to persuade those senators somehow if they want to pass the budget.
