Titan Worker Accused of Iraqi Prisoner Abuse-WSJ
NEW YORK (Reuters) - A Titan Corp. worker has been accused of taking part in the sexual humiliation of Iraqi detainees, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

The defense contractor, which provides translators and interpreters to the U.S. Army in Iraq (news - web sites), was named in an internal Army report about abuse at Abu Ghraib prison, the newspaper said, citing people familiar with the report.

A U.S. official who reviewed the report told the Journal that the unnamed Titan employee admitted he helped hold down three detainees who were "nude, handcuffed to each other and placed in sexual positions."

The report comes at a time investors and analysts are questioning whether Lockheed Martin Corp.'s plan to buy Titan will fall apart due to a bribery probe and an earlier mention of Titan in other prisoner abuse documents.

1. so he admits to aiding and abetting......
isn't that criminal in itself? This must be the one of the cases that the FBI can investigate due to jurisdictional problems. :eyes:

2. I just luv those "Army Investigations"
A Titan representative was not immediately available to comment, but Titan spokesman Wil Williams has told the Journal and Reuters that the Army had not advised the company of any wrongdoing by its employees or asked for cooperation in the ongoing investigations into prisoner abuse.

Don't ya just know they are busy digging into the facts!

5. Thank you. I am just wondering if all this will be exposed to the public.
These people, these "contractors", their companies and their ties to the Bush regime should be exposed in addition to the military involvement in prison abuse.

7. I think most of these contractors will not be charged,
sad to say. This goes all the way to the top and there is no way this "WH gone mad" will ever allow that exposer.

6. let's hope so
These companies have hired some of the worst thugs in the world - ex-apartheid regime death squad members from South Africa, torturers from Chile, anybody who can show that they have no scruples or conscience. Our tax dollars at work and play!

9. Any wonder why the Fallujah four were not loved
Those four may or may not have been involved in the prison tortures, but it seems reasonable to conclude the people of Fallujah were aware that mercenaries were involved.

10. the WSJ is freaked out that "private contractors" could be liable
It was hilarious - when the story first started to break they wrote a smug story about how CACI would get off scot-free, but were a little unclear about Titan. Their smugness evaporated as Americans learned that the WSJ was defending and promoting vile obscene rape and torture against innocent Iraqis. Too bad the main editorial is too chicken to sign "their" name. But we have shameless scumbags like Alan Dershowshitz who boldly applaud rape and torture against women and children as long as Israel is served and the victims are Arabs.

11. Your silence about the Sudan is noted.
Let's not have a word of criticism against Arabs, now.
