Suffolk University students protest anti-gay Romney as speaker
Several Suffolk U. (Boston) students held an "alternative fesitivities" gathering in lieu of attending their own graduation tomorrow where Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney will be the commencement speaker, in protest of his stance on gay marriage and gay rights in general. They noted that he has called gays "reprehansible" in public and they do not feel welcome at their own graduation. Others intend to attend the speech tomorrow and turn their backs as Romney addresses the graduates.

1. How did Romney Ever Get Elected?
He's a big time Mormon. That church excommunicates "homosexuals" who refuse to "repent". Now he's saying that he's glad that g/l couples can legally further elevate their relationship?

Massachusetts has a political/religious schizoid as its governor.

5. My question exactly...
How this guy ever got elected to public office in a state like Massachusetts completely baffles me.

There are enough problems with this crap from the Christian fundies.

2. Update, white armbands
Dozens wore white armbands with equal signs. Some FACULTY members held up "Equal" signs during his speech. Romney hightailed it out of there and avoided reporters questions.

6. easy
He got elected because too many Democrats held their respective noses and voted for him rather than vote for a woman, stupid I know but that's how. I'm convinced that the Republican party in Massachusetts won't run somebody unless they can get substantial Democratic votes. That's why we've been stuck with Repugs for the last 12 years, first Weld, then Cellucci and now Romney.
