10. The holes in his hands are pitiable - but don't forget the hundreds of
horribly maimed troops, some who have had their hands blown off, not to mention dead troops and dead and maimed Iraqis.

This man who can't ride his own bike is responsible for all the carnage.

30. My thought exactly!
I mountain bike nearly every weekend and have taken plenty of tumbles including a few face plants over the handlebars. 9 out of 10 times the first thing I check is the bike, did it screwed up, and who saw me crash. If nobody saw me crash then the crash didn't happen at the end of the day when the guys are BSing over a beer....With luck his face plant included cactux...wishful thinking.

35. But do you wear a mouth guard, CRK?
According the stories, Bush was wearing a "helmet and mouth guard." Is that something that "serious" cyclists do?

7. The POTUS wipes out on his bike while the country goes to hell - why
can't they just hook him onto a treadmill and let him run like a hamster on a wheel?

He is enough of an embarrassment as it is and now we have to hear he can't hold his own on a damn bike?

Everything he does reiterates how incapable he is.

They say bush was wearing "a helmet and mouth guard" Am I missing something here? Is that usual? Protection against terrorists? What? Hate to admit it, but I still can't stop laughing, thinking off him falling flat on his face. DU threads on this will keep me laughing for weeks! LOL!

22. You'd be tempted to believe a good President would be meeting
with his advisors continually, trying to hammer out some plans and solutions for this country and Iraq.

His frolicking around on his mountain bike simply makes him seem stupid and out of touch with reality.

23. I totally agree JudyLyn....
For cripes sakes Iraq is a disaster, gas prices are Sky high, The prison torture scandal grows by leaps daily, investigations of his criminal cabal are growing and his poll numbers are in the crapper! Yet his handlers let this doofus go play on his bike?!? He seems so out of touch with reality it really makes one wonder just how much he is aware of what is really going on around him. Do you think he even knows his poll numbers or do they keep that from the little king?

25. "Frolicking around on his mountain bike"--at his vacation home!
Exercise is good for you. I'd be glad for him to use the White House workout room, the indoor pool, or any of those facilities we provide for the President. He nees a break from the intellectual intensity of planning for Iraqi sovereignty, fighting terror & planning for the economy. (Stop laughing!)

But he has to fly to his vacation home once again, to find a more interesting form of recreation. (If they aren't lying about that.) Work is the last thing on his mind.

32. These two threads on the bike incident are making my day!
I want to respond but I'm still laughing at the incredible amount of humor DU'ers have. I can't think of anything to top what has already been said here. The guy was in all likelihood drunk. First he falls off the couch, then the Segway and now a bike? Give me a friggin' break! There's nothing more to say. He's a total embarrassment to our wonderful country.

"But Bush got back on the bike, riding more than 20 miles without falling Sunday, a White House spokesman said. Bush had fallen about 16 miles into a 17-mile ride on his ranch in Crawford.

Bush also spent some time Sunday polishing his Monday night speech on Iraq, one of a series he will be delivering on the subject. But there were few details of the speech."

But he brought his doctor along? How convenient.

The mouth guard is the weirdest part.

And his ranch is big enough for a 17 mile ride? Or was he doing laps?

At least I was spared pictures of W in bike shorts.
