CNBC: Ex-NYSE Exec in Deal with Spitzer
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=businessNews&storyID=5236718

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A former New York Stock Exchange executive closely linked to the $188.5 million compensation package of former chief executive Richard Grasso has reached a deal with New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, CNBC reported on Monday.

Frank Ashen, a former NYSE executive vice president, struck a deal in order to avoid being charged by Spitzer with a breach of fiduciary duty, the cable television network said. Spitzer is expected to file suit against Grasso, as well as other former Big Board directors, as early as today.

...very short newsblurb...

yeah, a $200 million retirement package from a non-profit agency that is supposed to monitor the stock exchange...

7. I suggested that on DU the other day!
Of course I had a lot of people tell me he's planning on running for Governor in 2006 and wouldn't be interested. I don't know, which is the most prestigous job, AGUS or Gov? Seems to me you'd have more power as AGUS and isn't that the name of the game with all politicians?

4. Spitzer ROCKS! He's onto the games played by the thugs in power
and he's not having ANY of it. He kicks a$$ and takes names.... then doesn't let up until he's gotten to the bottom of it.

Kerry could not POSSIBLY find a better person than Eliot Spitzer for Atty. General. Spitzer is brilliant and honest. He's incredible, and tireless when he goes after the bad guys. He knows where all the bodies are buried.

We MAY even be able to clean up the mafia that is running rampant through the government & agencies of this country if Spitzer was chosen as Kerry's atty. general.

5. I met Spitzer a few times. He's a great guy.
He actually used to have these little discussion groups around here in the local libraries where he would answer questions and offer advice to consumers and investors how they can protect themselves.

He also plays a mean game of tennis. VERY aggressive. He definitely plays to win.
