2. Magic Number of 1000
This could happen at any time all at once. I don't feel the least bit confident that Iraq is going to all of a sudden be a friendly place before or after the "June 30 deadline" My guess is we haven't even begun to see the extent of the killing yet to come.

6. 802 US (912 Total Coaltion) Dead -- Lunaville Stats
664 US Dead since May 1 2003 (Mission Accomplished)
741 Total Coalition Dead since May 1 2003 (Mission Accomplished)

138 US Dead pre Mission Accomplished ...

So, approx 6 times that number have died since GW's infamous declaration "Mission Accomplished"

And let us not forget the THOUSANDS of soldiers now missing limbs

7. We'll reach 1000 dead
if everything stays the same, in about 3 1/2 months, but, everything is not going to stay the same. We damaged one of the shiite holy sites in fighting, we have this absurd notion of turning something over to the Iraqis next month. When we don't there is bound to be a backlash, if we don't tread very softly, we'll draw Iran into the war, which may be one of the neoconvict goals.

Myself I believe we reached 1000 dead a long time ago.
