<Mayor Daley scolded Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry Tuesday for making a wisecrack about the bicycle accident that scraped the face, hands and knees of President Bush.

According to the Drudge Report, Kerry was having a conversation with reporters that he apparently believed was off the record when he reportedly asked, "Did the training wheels fall off?"

Daley, who ripped the skin off his kneecap during a bicycle accident a few years ago, said the joke was disrespectful. "When someone falls . . . you should not wish ill upon anyone. It's not right. . . . You just don't do that. Let's have some respect for one another."

I think it was a great joke. Not only was he joking about Bush falling, but Bush's recent comment that Iraq was ready for its training wheels to be taken off. Go Kerry!!!

I found the remark to be very unpresidential, and I think it makes Kerry look mean, and that is not the image I want conveyed of him.

If Kerry had been unpresidential and mean he would have replied more truthfully. He would have said an idiot who has no sense of balance shouldn't be attempting to ride a bike...even if the idiot had his personal tax-payer paid doctor tagging along.

But comments like that do nothing but further the idea that he is "elitist" and it makes him come off as mean and rude.

I realize that this comment was not "on the record" but when dealing with the whore press he always has to be on guard.

It is very possible Kerry never even said it. Which would make Daley a nitwit rumor monger.
