(Win Without War) Group Seeks Protest of Iraq Occupation
SAN FRANCISCO - A grass roots anti-war group that flooded Congress with more than a million phone calls and e-mails before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq (news - web sites) last year is planning a similar action next month, shortly before the expected handover of sovereignty to an interim Iraqi government June 30.

Win Without War, a coalition of liberal organizations including the online group MoveOn.org, wants the Bush administration to set a "date certain" for American troops to leave Iraq. Nationwide protests are in the works for June 26 and 27.

"Our substantial military presence has become a rallying cry for the Iraqi insurgency," said Tom Andrews, a former Democratic congressman who now heads Win Without War. "A majority of Americans are very angry and very frustrated. The time has come to ignite a national movement against this outrageous policy."
