Former Gov. Don Siegelman, two others indicted

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- A federal grand jury indicted former Gov. Don Siegelman and two others in a bid-rigging scheme involving a maternity-care program, prosecutors announced Thursday.

The charges accused Siegelman and former Chief of Staff Paul Hamrick of helping Tuscaloosa physician Phillip Bobo rig bids for the program in 1999 while Siegelman was governor.

Siegelman and Hamrick are accused of moving $550,000 from the state education budget to the State Fire College in Tuscaloosa so Bobo could get the money and offer it to a competitor not to seek the contract for a seven-county area.

Siegelman's attorney, Doug Jones, said he was still trying to learn details of the indictment and had no immediate comment.

Many also who are there due to mis-adjustments of psyciatric prescription drugs, often leaving the trusting patient with an altered sense of their own conscience, while the pharma co.'s profit at their expense. "Oops, gee sorry 'bout that prescription change, we'll have you good as new..as soon as you've served your time."

I am so sickened by the thievery and corruption of those trusted to care for our Nation as dearly as we do.
