Saudi with ties to Sept. 11 hijackers held in San Diego
ASSOCIATED PRESS

3:52 p.m. May 27, 2004

SAN DIEGO – A Saudi believed to have ties to two hijackers in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks was arrested Thursday on immigration charges, authorities said.

Hasan Saddiq Faseh Alddin, 34, was a roommate of a "close friend" of hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi and Khalid al-Midhar in September 2001, the Department of Homeland Security said in a news release. The two Saudi hijackers died aboard the American Airlines jet that crashed into the Pentagon.

Alddin's roommate left the United States the day before the terrorist strikes. A Homeland Security spokeswoman, Lauren Mack, declined to name the roommate or elaborate in any way.

Alddin was placed in deportation proceedings and is being held without bail. He was arrested near his home in Vista, on immigration charges that resulted from two convictions for domestic violence.

2. I say, yes but how about Osama??
Just getting around to rounding up some hapless Saudi with no proof that he did anything?? Is he going to be classified as an illegal combatant so no formal proceedings are necessary, but maximum "we got one" news effect is guaranteed. Ashcroft & co should be on the prison bound list for 2005.

3. Persecuting Arab immigrants is disgusting, but

take no issue with the government deporting all guys who beat up their wives, girlfriends, and kids, as far as I am concerned. as long as they're actually guilty, of course.

4. The last guy they arrested here was innocent
They arrested a guy here in San Diego who was an (Arab what else)innocent associate of one of the hijackers (I think he had worked with one of the hijackers at a convenience store.) They dragged his ass back to New york held him incommunicado (thanks Patriot Act) from his American wife and children, physically abused him, locked him in a room with no blankets and a 24 hour 600 watt night light for 7 months.

What happened? Ooops we're sorry just a simple misunderstanding. Your education interrupted-so sorry, lost your job-you'll find another, social pariah in your neighborhood-not our fault.

7. FBI/DHS (whatever) busy in SD

Wonder who the heck the "close friend" is? Sounds like bs, but which blend of bs.

Lets see, hijackers from the San Diego cell were on CIA watch list (observed in Malaysia possibly with OKC Nichols--but that's another story), stayed in an apt. owned by FBI informant, received funding via Bandar's wife, killed people at Pentagon on 9/11, and now there's some San Diego action happening in 2004 just while the funding bank is imploding, where J. Bush just happens to be a director.

Where's Ollie Stone when you need him? Where's Ollie North for that matter.

8. Convienent patsy. Sure took a long time to arrest this dangerous
Edited on Thu May-27-04 10:58 PM by leesa
criminal. The roommate of two men who were friends with a TERRORIST...whom we really don't know was involved with 9-11 at all, but, hey, they're Muslims, so they must have been, right? Better than stating the obvious, that the Bush Crime Family had anything to do with 9-11. Heaven forbid we arrest any of the rich folk who funded the little 9-11 project.
