U.S. Iraq Military Deaths - 800 U.S. service members have died

As of Thursday, May 27, 800 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq (news - web sites) last year, according to the Defense Department. Of those, 585 died as a result of hostile action and 215 died of non-hostile causes. snip

Since May 1, 2003, when President Bush (news - web sites) declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 662 U.S. soldiers have died — 476 as a result of hostile action and 186 of non-hostile causes, according to the military's numbers.

1. I think the 800 number was passed a week or so ago...
but, of course, this adminstration likes their "fuzzy math" so they redefine what counts as a "death".
