Court strips Pinochet of immunity
another blow for democracy!

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/05/28/chile.pinochet.ap/index.html

A court stripped Gen. Augusto Pinochet of his immunity from prosecution Friday, paving the way for the trial of the former Chilean dictator on human rights charges.

The court voted 14-9 to lift the immunity that the 88-year-old Pinochet enjoys as former president, a court clerk said.

The decision may still be appealed before the Supreme Court, which has repeatedly ruled in the past that Pinochet is physically and mentally unfit to stand trial.

1. Gee, only about thirty years too late...
But can we get Kissinger in the docket with him?

5. There are some rather damning tape transcripts coming to light
about Kissinger's role in Chile.

Delight Over Coup Is Evident in Transcripts

The conversation with Mr. Nixon about the coup in Chile will probably add to the debate about Washington's role in that event. Mr. Kissinger has long maintained, both in Congressional testimony and in his memoirs, that the United States had no direct role in the coup but only sought to protect private enterprise in the country.

In the 1973 conversation, Mr. Kissinger tells the president that "of course the newspapers are bleeding because a pro-Communist government has been overthrown."

snip
Mr. Kissinger issued a statement in New York on Thursday in which he said that while the documents might be illuminating, people should read "a substantial portion of them," not just one or two excerpts "culled out of context." He said he had cooperated in their publication, to aid understanding of an important period in American history.

But Tom Blanton of the National Security Archive, a private Washington group that labored for years to have the documents disclosed, said Mr. Kissinger's statement was misleading because he had sought to block their release for more than 30 years.

3. Put him in office, trained his Right-Wing Death Squads
who murdered many innocents the way the Freepers would like to do to us if they thought they could get away with it.

Looked the other way, lied and covered up when Pinochet began to be exposed elsewhere.

And so much more.

Pinochet is Bushfriend for Life.

And he belongs with them, the Tyrannical Fucking Monsters!
