Race against time for Venezuela recall drive

Venezuela's opposition urged its followers Saturday to "defend their freedom" by ratifying signatures on a petition for an August recall referendum against President Hugo Chavez.

Manuel Cova, head of Venezuela's largest labor confederation and a leader of the Democratic Coordinator opposition coalition, said turnout was high at polling stations despite some incidents of intimidation and technical glitches.

Gotta stop those dang native peasants from thinking they can actually exercise their vote and elect a president who thinks about them...

The sooner Chavez is booted out and a fine white man is in power again, the better for the elite of Venezuela
