Handover on track in Iraq: Myers
~snip~
"Sovereignty will pass to Iraq no later than 30 June," said General Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"The important thing to remember is that when sovereignty passes, Iraq will not be capable of providing for its own security," he told NBC television.

"They're going to need and they will want the help of the coalition forces.

"Just remember the kind of situation we have: it's not just former regime elements in Iraq that are trying to stop progress, it's also some very serious terrorist groups that have international reach."

Myers said a considerable step toward self-governance was achieved last week with the nomination by Iraq's Governing Council of former exile Iyad Allawi to be prime minister after the June 30 handover of power by the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA).

He probably is a paranoid personality type too. The man is a as stoopid as they come---which explains why they chose him as their Lap-Doggie

They're giving power back to the Baathists and members of Saddam's military. Unfortunately, most Americans aren't paying attention.

And, by the way, now this is a war against "extremism," according to Myers.

Who's extreme?

One council source suggested that Saad al-Janabi, a close associate of relatives of ousted dictator Saddam Hussein with Republican Party and CIA (news - web sites) connections, was being considered as a third possible candidate.

With security a prime problem facing the interim government, Janabi comes from a tribe with connections in the troubled city of Fallujah and Al-Anbar province, one of the most violent areas during the US-led occupation.

The offices of Pachachi and Yawar said they knew nothing about the report. Neither did Governing Council spokesman Hamid al-Kifaey.

8. It's going to take a lot more than just voting to fix America...
...considering the right-leaning Congress, which won't even bring up the lies under oath.

Hell, it's worse than during Iran-Contra, and the cover-up there was pretty bad!
