GI Killed, two hurt in Iraq bomb attack
Edited on Mon Aug-11-03 03:46 AM by fizzana
BASRA, Iraq - British troops restored badly needed electricity to parts of Basra and supervised distribution of gasoline Monday after two days of protests over fuel and power shortages. In northern Iraq (news - web sites), a U.S. soldier was killed and two others wounded in a bomb attack.

The soldiers from the 4th Infantry Division came under attack with a homemade bomb in front of the police station they were guarding in Baqouba, 45 miles north of Baghdad, late Sunday, Maj. Mark Solomons said.

<snip>

Elsewhere Sunday, the U.S. military reported that four American soldiers were wounded in guerrilla attacks, including two at the Baghdad University complex and two others in Saddam's hometown of Tikrit.

One U.S. soldier died of heat stroke and another was found dead in his living quarters on Sunday, the military said.

4. sickening!
The headline says 1 GI killed. So the two soldiers mentioned as an afterthought in the last paragraph don't count?!? Found dead in his living quarters? Suicide perhaps? Will we ever know the truth of this disasterous occupation?

5. Predicting a Shortage of Heating Fuel for Winter Too!
Those poor bastards have burned up all summer, and now they will freeze to death this winter! All of a sudden, Saddam is looking like a G/D saint!!! It's no wonder the Iraqis hate our guts!

6. Have you noticed that it's been more than a couple of months
since Bush has made an appearance in front of a military crowd. He's certainly not one to shy away from an adoring crowd so even Rove must be aware by now that the CIC is not exactly popular among the troops or their families.

8. Where's the press coverage? Where's the imbedded reporters?
You barely get a whiff of media coverage on GI deaths lately. Whatever happened to the embedded reporters? Remember back to the 24/7 coverage of 'shock and awe'?

The shock and awe is on our guys now fighting the second war over there but the US public gets no news of this.

I guess 'victory' makes better ratings than death and dying.

10. Last night on the local news
they reported on two deaths that I'd read about here days ago, one from heat exhaustion and the soldier who died in his sleep. Anyway, these numbers still don't add up, and what they ultimately will add up to is the demise of fucknutz mcchimp* and all of his evil henchmen. They can't hide the truth forever, this is a massive failure, soldiers are dying daily, the world hates us, there is much suffering and we are not safer.

11. I wonder if that soldier found dead
was sending out to many e-mails and talk about the war? Was this a mafia style murder?

12. BRING 'EM ON!
Way to go, you fucking chimp. More and more Americans are snuffed out and wasted in Iraq as you lick pig balls on your dirt farm in Crawford.
