Sudan rebels abduct 9
Khartoum - Rebels in Sudan's war-ravaged Darfur region have abducted nine people, including two women and a child, the state-owned Sudan Media Centre reported on Monday.

The centre said the nine were seized and abducted on Sunday after rebels attacked their village, Almalm, some 120km east of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state.

The centre gave no other details and the report could not be immediately verified.

Earlier this month, Darfur rebels seized 16 local and international aid workers in the region but later released them unharmed.

1. What's this? They're not called Al-qaeda?
Perhaps news24 didn't get the memo. Henceforth, ALL bad guys (i.e. rebels, kidnappers, beheaders, suicide bombers, etc.) are to be called Al-qaeda or al-Qaeda linked. Got it?
