Saudis Try To Flush Out Al-Qaida With Claim Of Amnesty

Saudi Arabia has offered al Qaida operatives inside the kingdom a one-month amnesty and claim that Mujahideen who hand themselves within the timeframe in will not face the death penalty but will be prosecuted for any attacks on civilians.

The announcement was made on state television by Crown Prince Abdullah on behalf of his half brother, King Fahd. He said the offer was open to anyone who has not yet been "arrested for carrying out terrorist acts".

"We are opening the door of amnesty to everyone who deviated from the path of right and committed a crime in the name of religion, which is in fact a corruption on earth," he said.

If you're a member of Al Queda, just how effin' stupid would you have to be to take this offer at face value? The Saudi Security forces kill people who are suspected of committing crimes.
