4. al-Qaeda appears capable of striking at will in Turkey
Simple question: You wanna be near a financial institution in Ankara or Istanbul today or tomorrow? Not me. Couldn't pay me enough. A hotel frequented by foreigners? Hmmm.

Tell us again how we've "got 'em on the run!"

Jesus, the fucking Olympics this summer...:scared:

6. How could anyone
How could anyone think that we're "winning the war on terror" when it just seems that Bush is making things worse?

7. They think we're winning the war because BUSH LIES.
No one will remember the "corrected" report, they'll only cite the first Enron-style cooked book saying terror attacks and accompanying fatalities are at their lowest in 35 years.

11. Well, Istanbul is basically shut down
on 28-29 June, when the NATO summit is going to be held. Whole districts are being closed to traffic, and everybody going through control points will be searched. It is unbelievable.

8. BBC link
From the BBC Online
Dated Thursday June 24 12:55 GMT (5:55 am PDT)

Explosions rock Turkish cities

A bomb attack in Istanbul has killed two people and injured seven others, just hours after an earlier explosion in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The blasts come ahead of a visit by US President George W Bush for a summit of Nato leaders.
The first explosion took place near a hotel in Ankara where Mr Bush is due to stay for the meeting.
Two people, including a police officer, were injured in that incident. Security has been high ahead of Sunday's talks.

For decades, the BBC has been a trusted source of news and information for those living in countries deprived of a free and independent press. That is why this American living in the age of Bush and corporatism turns to the BBC Online.

10. Yes, it exploded in a bus.
And a few minutes ago another bomb has been found in a HSBC bank right across the building I'm working in.
