Entergy Corp. plans 1,000 job cuts; Cooper Tire to trim 115
From News Services
08/13/03

"Entergy Corp. of New Orleans, the fifth-biggest U.S. utility owner by market value, plans to cut 1,000 jobs, or more than 6 percent of its work force, by offering voluntary retirement packages to employees.

EDIT

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. of Findlay, Ohio, the No. 2 U.S. tiremaker, plans to close a Cleveland automotive-plastics factory early next year and eliminate 115 jobs.

The automotive plastics produced at the Cleveland plant, which was acquired in the 1999 purchase of auto-parts maker Standard Products Corp., aren't a key business for Cooper, the company said."
