Voting machines passed tests (according to LWV - Sarasota)
Edited on Thu Aug-14-03 10:39 AM by phoebe
The League of Women Voters of Sarasota County was significantly involved in all aspects of the 2002 Sarasota County election process. It helped choose the electronic voting machines. (Public input was also strongly encouraged.) Next, our members were trained to operate the machines. We demonstrated them at many locations throughout the county. We adopted a precinct, were trained to run it and fully manned it from start to finish on Election Day.

We were able to resolve complications easily, such as solving questions of eligibility to vote, as well as providing easy access for voters with disabilities. The result is that we have absolute confidence in Sarasota County's voting machines, voting process and audit capacity.

1. Oh, great. Faith-based elections: "we have absolute confidence..."
It doesn't f-ing matter if you can figure out how to RUN the stupid things - they are VULNERABLE TO FRAUD.

Have they completely disregarded BBV?

Sheesh.

5. Yesterday, Rove said FL is ground zero for 2004
No kidding.

What good is knowing how efficiently poll workers can assist you in voting on machines that may only mangle the results?

7. League of Women Voters

and for the most part, what would their political affiliations be. Are they bipartisan? This is idiocy.

8. I hope someone builds a smart card that can cheat on these things
And puts them out for sell on the internet.

That might be the only way we can stop these things, and at least we'll have the choice to cheat like mad if they aren't stopped.
