Bush gag is his only acknowledgment of recall (Bush sees protest & signs)
Edited on Fri Aug-15-03 12:25 AM by Nambe
San Diego-AP

- At a San Diego fund-raiser, he even cracked a joke about California's gubernatorial recall -

"Bush's motorcade through San Diego was lined with hundreds of protesters. They waved signs with messages such as "Commander 'n Thief," "Re-elect Satan in '04" and "Bush lied, our troops died."

Banish bush From Texas Too

2. Why Doesn't Gov. Davis Tell The People
about the energy scandal? Seems like that is one of, if not the biggest reason California is having problems.

Bush is a total nightmare!

I hate the Republican manufactured and programmed voting machines!

Secretly in L.A.---no publicity on that--
I flipped them off as they rode by.
Alot of the SS troops looked right at me when I did.

Sunset blvd was emptied by LAPD near UCLA- tons of chp escorts and a whole lota bulletproof limos with Men in Black inside.

5. Bush can't evade the truth!
He can go to Camp David, or Kennebunkport, or Crawford...but, he will NEVER have peace again! Never!

He has killed thousands of innocent people! He has maimed even more! Let him never forget his evil sins! May his parents regret ever having given birth to this satanic child! May they see the day when he is put on trial for his evil crimes. But, God will have the final judgement for this despicable human being. And, likely, he will rot in hell forever!

Thank you, all of you peace-loving protesters! God bless you all!

:loveya:

9. it's Nixon deja vu all over again
As Nixon's unpopularity grew, the only places he would go to give speeches were military bases, defense companies and venues where the "audience" was pre-screened and selected

Not too much different than AWOL's appearances

15. ''Re-elect Satan''
is funny, but remember -- we can't RE-elect someone who wasn't elected in the first place!

16. The only problem with that line...
...is that it suggests that our unbeloved Führer was ever "elected" in the first place, which, of course, he wasn't.

Thank God the protesters hit the streets, and with such appropriate signs, too. Thank God they were seen and heard.

14. Bush isn't Satan
To blatantly steal a quote from The West Wing, he's the guy who runs down to 7-11 to get Satan a pack of cigarettes.

18. people, people
He didn't joke about troops dying. Here's the story from the link:

California finance chairman and close pal Brad Freeman introduced Bush in a speech heavy with praise for the president. Bush took the stage and said, "I thought for a moment he was going to announce for governor, he spoke so long."

Bush's motorcade through San Diego was lined with hundreds of protesters. They waved signs with messages such as "Commander 'n Thief," "Re-elect Satan in '04" and "Bush lied, our troops died."

Yah, he's evil personified, but we need to stick to facts.

21. Interesting...
The last time I checked, San Diego was a conservative haven in a largely Democratic southern California region.

And yet, SmirkBoy's STILL seeing protest signs...

23. Where was the fundraiser?..La Jolla?
San Diegoo is wing-nut heaven! Only one Dem legislator from heavily gerrymandered hispanic district. Huge Dittohead military population. Rampant racism. Heavy handed cops. I was there in 1996 during GOP convention. Repuke mayor jailed/exported all the homeless folks for a week. Huge concentration of INHERITED wealth in La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, etc! (Living on low-tax "ranches"!) BFEE country!
