Chief Of Staff To FCC's Powell Resigns

WASHINGTON (AP)

Marsha MacBride, chief of staff to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Powell, said Monday that she is resigning.

"Although the chairman has a challenging agenda ahead of him, the time is right for me to pursue new opportunities," MacBride said in a statement.

MacBride became Powell's chief of staff in January 2001. She previously served as his adviser when he was an FCC commissioner, focusing on matters involving broadcast and cable television and international issues. -
