"A man who fathered six children by his own daughter and abused her for more than two decades has been jailed for 15 years.

The 51-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, started indecently assaulting his daughter when she was eight and later began raping her, Swindon Crown Court heard.

The daughter, now 31, gave birth to the first of the six children when she was 19.

Three of the children have serious disabilities after being born with genetic disorders. "

I try not to post "crap" in LBN, and don't generally post regional UK stories. However, if a story is as shocking and appalling as this one I might choose to post it.

My reasons? Well....partly human interest, partly to illustrate the depths to which individual humans can sink and partly as a reminder to my global friends that it's not just the US that has problems.

The girl will remain anonymous (I presume that her father's identity is being kept secret to protect her and her children) and I don't think there will be much follow up....unless, of course, he gets beaten to death in prison once his inmates discover what he's in for.

This is an absolute disgrace. So may I add is 15 years compared to the damage to lives he has caused.

He should never be allowed to see the light of day in my opinion.
