Demonstrators gear up for Bush (Seattle)
Edited on Wed Aug-20-03 09:31 AM by Nambe
King County Journal

- Most of those people will be protesting Bush's presence in the area, the war in Iraq and the cutting of veterans benefits among other issues, said Mike Yarrow of the Western Washington Fellowship of Reconciliation. Yarrow sits on the organizing committee of Sound Nonviolent Opponents of War, an umbrella organization for more than 100 activist groups. -

Another rally organized by the International Association of Machinists, the Bremerton Metal Trades Council and the state Democratic Party will start at Crossroads Community Park, with people bused in from Kitsap and Pierce Counties.

At least 16 buses with those people and others picked up in the park will then head to the loop at the base of Hunts Point in time for the Bush motorcade.

``There's only one way in,'' said Machinists representative Mike Goddard, ``and we're going to be there.'' ---

1. Do you suppose
The pResident will actually see the demonstrators this time?

What will he think? Does he even know that there are vast numbers of people who oppose his administration?

Worse case scenario: Does he even care?

4. Your worse case is the reality
The Saturday rally is after he leaves. That he came at all is being protested.

6. Hunts point? That figures.
That's NOT in Seattle. That's the eastside of Lake Washington, home of rich, right-wing bastards.

See ya Saturday.

12. Give'm Hell
I can't be there, but will be at the Dean rally. People at the protest should hold up signs with the words "ASSHOLE".
