Republicans looking at carving up Dennis Kucinich's District in Ohio
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A16860-2003Aug19.html

Ohio Republicans may take a cue from state legislators in Texas and Colorado and tinker with the lines that shape their congressional districts.

Now some Republicans are looking at carving up northeast Ohio, which would reshape the seat of Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D), and possibly other House members. "I've seen some plans floating around to do some line adjustments," state GOP Chairman Bob Bennett said.

1. Is their no end to their criminality?
How much more undemocratic behavior from these jackasses can we take before we revolt? Seriously, revolt is looking like the only viable alternative to all this.

8. I'm seeing a few things here
and your idea of revolting might be a bad one IF we didn't know about all the cheating/BBV you say undemocratic I say fascist behavior.

Let's face it the repukes can see the writing on the wall their days of power are just about up they are now overplaying their hands.
I ask, why are they doing this? Are they really this stupid or do they know the elections are going to be rigged in their favor? Or are they trying to grab all the power they can because they know they are going down that the worm is turning?

Let's see Texas, Colorado, California, Ohio, Georgia (Max C.) and let's not forget Florida 2000 USSC stealing of the election. The people aren't going to keep turning a blind eye to this. I don't think Bush is going to win in 2004 if the votes are counted and there isn't any cheating he's going to lose big and I think the Repukes are going to lose the Senate and the House if not in 04 in the next election cycle.

I also think DK better watch it he's scaring the corporatists. They don't want to get FDR'd and with the Eronization thieving glaring in the peoples minds and the power grid failure the people aren't buying it they see what de-regulation did to their cable bills. The price didn't go down (as promised) it went up and what else did we get commercials on what we already pay for. huuurmmmph!

All the people that are out of work and homeless 'familie's not druggies or drunks not just blue collars jobs going overseas it's now the white collar workers jobs.
I seriously, don't think people are going to take it. Even if the education of the people is lacking they don't do well when it comes to being homeless hungry out of work and broke. Also the ones that are educated and feeling it are going to do something about it more so.

If things keep going like they are and we get another 4 years of Bush with wars here and there they will have to reinstate the draft. Who the hell's going fight the wars if they don't? People are not going to put up with it and if they do they deserve what they get if they don't STAND UP!

The only way we are going to stop this is grassroots it won't be the corporatist media breaking a story they are worthless for democracy they've failed their duty.

So, I say to the Ohio repukes keep it up the people are watching you and they aren't gonna take kindly to this. Americans I don't think, like people shoving stuff down our throats even if they agree, people just don't take kindly to this behavior I'm seeing from repukes all over the country. Nobody likes a bully!
Look what they did to Clinton it didn't cause him to lose the 96 election I voted for him just because of what I saw the pukes doing. I was mad as hell then and I'm livid now!
It's time to squash these fascists once and for all! and no there is no end to their criminality even if Dems. held all the branches of government they would still be at it and we better hold Dems. feet to the fire too because I for one am not going to take anymore of the DINO's 'corporatist shills' selling us out. I'm sick of it!

4. Can't be done...
...quorum is a simple majority.

However, it was this legislature that drew up the boundaries after the 2000 Census, so it can and will be challenged in court, if they're dumb enough to try it.

5. I don't know much about Ohio...
Edited on Wed Aug-20-03 11:48 AM by sham
Can/would their Dems take a stand like ours have in Texas? I'm sure Kucinich would. What about the state legislators? Do they have the same quorum rules, and would the Dems be able to bust the quorum? This bullshit is going to snowball and start happening all over the country, because the pugs are scared shitless that they're going to lose the WH next year. They're going to make a massive power grab for the House and Senate, and we can't let them do it.

on edit: AWD, I must have just missed your post... you answered my question.

7. They had their chance in 2001
In fact Republicans controlled everything in 2001 in Ohio and they blew it.

I hope Democrats in Illinois are paying attention.
