RESCUERS were today still searching for survivors in the wreckage of the Iraq headquarters of the United Nations following the massive truck bomb attack.
At least 20 people, including top UN envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello, were killed in the attack yesterday afternoon when a suicide bomber drove a yellow cement truck packed with explosives into the three storey building in Baghdad.
And today the UN named a Scots woman - Fiona Watson, 35, from Pittenweem, Fife, a political affairs officer in Mr Vieira de Mello’s office - as one of the victims.
More than 100 people were injured in the blast, which brought down three floors of the concrete building.
Many people are believed to be still trapped in the rubble.
The ruined building served as a base for some 300 international UN personnel in Baghdad out of the 646 in Iraq altogether.
