Nugent Sues Town Over Canceled Concert
Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 11:42 PM by khephra
(Usually I post entertainment realated posts in the Lounge, but I think this one may qualify as BN. You all know that we're going to see a hell of a lot of news coverage on this one due to the influence of Conservatives in the media these days.)

Nugent Sues Town Over Canceled Concert

DETROIT -- Michigan rocker Ted Nugent filed a lawsuit in federal court, claiming organizers who canceled a June performance wrongly accused him of making racist comments.

Nugent claims that accusations made by city officials and others, and the cancelation of the June 30 concert, damaged his reputation and career, according to a statement issued by his attorney.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday, names the City of Muskegon; Mayor Stephen Warmington; City Manager Bryon Mazade; Meridian Entertainment, the concert's promoter, and others as defendants.

"In a world of political correctness, there is no more reputation-destroying term than racist," Nugent said in the statement. "And the alleged statements falsely attributed to me could not have been more inaccurate or misleading, completely counter to what I stand for."

2. According to the article
The remarks were made live on radio, so I'd imagine there's probably a record of the statements somewhere. Teddyboy may not be making a wise move, unless he's actually telling the truth.

 It could happen...I mean no one expected Bush to steal office. Maybe it's possible for Ted to tell the truth in a case?

I somehow doubt it though.

3. Another frivolous Republican lawsuit
Just like Bush, the Republicans alway say they are against lawsuits, unless they are the ones filing them.

Imagine if the Dixie Chicks had filed a lawsuit for every person who tried to hurt their business. Fox, CNN, and Clearchannel, along with many others would be out of business.

8. Are you kidding?
He's been spouting racist rubbish for years...

He was about the only show biz act on earth to make a point of playing in the old apartheid regime of South Africa...

7. "If you can't speak English, get the fuck out of America" Nugent
said, during a concert in San Antonio several years ago. He appeared on a t.v. talk show a few weeks later and argued with a Latino spokesman who took him to task for that remark.

I remember some derogatory remarks he made against blacks in a NRA expose article printed in "Mother Jones" in the late nineties.

9. Teddy Boy is also a Chickenhawk
boasts about how wonderful the war in Iraq is, even shows himself on his webpage as a soldier, but

HE NEVER SERVED and avoided Vietnam just like the rest of the Bushbots.
It is embarassing to live in the same state as him. I often dream of a large grizzly bear chasing Teddy thru the woods, minus his gun.

On the KILLER Hunter scene he has a big business. As a talking head who can't put two sentences together he has a career.

I hate TED NUGENT!
