CNN Breaking: Israel Rocket Attack in Gaza City; 4 Dead
Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 02:49 PM by VolcanoJen
CNN reports that the target was the base for Arafat's personal guard, and that two of the dead were members of the Hamas military wing.

Israeli helicopters fired missiles at a car in Gaza City on Sunday, killing four people, witnesses said.

The identity of those killed was not immediately known.

Israel's army chief said only hours earlier that all members of Hamas are "potential targets for liquidation." The missile attack came three days after a Hamas leader, Ismail Abu Shanab, was killed in such a strike.

<snip>

The killing of Abu Shanab came in retaliation for a Hamas suicide bombing that killed 21 people on a Jerusalem bus last week.

1. Hmm....
"CNN reports that the target was the base for Arafat's personal guard,"
Interesting. Faux's reporter in Gaza was saying that the target was a car with 4 men init, who avoided the initial missle, then got out of the car and tried to escape by mingling into a crowd of pedestrians at which point the helicopters fired again, at the crowd...

2. around and around it goes....
The British finally handled the situation in
Ireland with some intelligence, by not retaliating
every time there was a bombing.
Sometimes you just have to stop reacting with more
violence and come back to the table.

Where it stops, nobody knows.

3. Condoleeeza Rice, circa January 2001
I paraphrase:

"The Bush administration will be taking a hands-off role with regard to the problems in the Middle East. Israel and the Palestinians are going to have to want peace. We can't force it on them."

Where has Condoleeeza been lately, anyway? I haven't heard a word from her in weeks, not since CNNI discussed how she was an unqualified failure in securing our country against terrorists, yet she wasn't fired from her job. Funny. Nobody was.

Where are Wolfie and Perle and the other wizards?
Surely they should be crowing about their victories
some more?
