US forces made a surprise attack on Irapi Turkoman Front (ITC) office in Kirkuk. In the operation that was launched aproximetly at 20.30 (local time), American soldiers confiscated 18 officially permitted guns and shot dead two Turkomans.
From the early hours of Sunday, Turkomans gathered at the ITC office and held an anti-American protest by chanting slogans "long live for Turkomans!"
ITC spokesman Mustafa Kemal Yaycili said that Kurdish groups have been attempting to get hold of Kirkuk so stability is spoilt. By noticing Iraqi policemen consist of peshmergas relating to Kurdistan Patriotic Union and Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party, "they caused all trouble. Worse things will happen if such incidents don't be prevented. Some groups are trying to collapse statues that belong to Turkomans. They even fire on the statues, such as Martyr Ata Hayrullah Statue and Selahattin Avci Statue."
