US should set disarming example: Elbaradei
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...
Love the Oz press.

he head of the United Nations' nuclear watchdog has called on the United States to set an example to the rest of the world and
cut its nuclear arsenal and halt research programs.

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mohamed Elbaradei, says the US government demands that other nations
not possess nuclear weapons.

But, he says in an interview with Germany's Stern weekly, the US is arming itself,.

He also criticised US President George Bush's plan for a national missile defence shield, saying a small number of privileged
countries want a nuclear protective shield.

1. Didn't think it was possible...
And I thought the UN had hit bottom long ago, but this drives
to a new low...

With Lybia heading the UN Human Rights Comission, Syria as
President of the UN Security Council, and now this, the UN is
clearly not working to reform as a meaningful organization...

It's the League of Nations all over again...

2. Yup, completely irrelevant.
Good thing we don't need their help in Iraq.

4. Hmmm, how does this make them irrelevant?
Care to back up your claims? The US has enough nuclear weapons to single-handedly wipe out the rest of the world, yet we demand that no other nation build them. The UN spokesperson here simply pointed that out. How does pointing out hypocrisy drive to a new low?

Oh yeah, wait, they have those black helicopters ready to invade the US and change all our speed limit signs to metric, those bastards!!!

If you mean how the UN's failure to stop Bush's invasion of Iraq is reminiscent of how the League failed to halt Mussolini's invasion of Ethiopia, I'd have to agree with you. But something tells me that's not what you meant.
