Stockton School Named for George W. Bush Opens Today
Gannett Co., Inc

Cities are full of schools named Washington, Adams and Jefferson. In Stockton, however, a school has been named for a current president, apparently for the first time ever.

G.W. Bush school is the first to be built with funds from an $80 million bond approved by voters in 2000. The $13 million campus is situated on 12 acres near the Stockton Auto Mall. It will be home to 850 students. ---

It isn't likely students will become familiar with their school's namesake any time soon, at least not in person. Despite repeated invitations, the president has sent word that his schedule does not allow for a visit to the school.

5. School motto
"Is Our Children Learning?"

Is this Stockton, CA? California schools are the worst, so actually this is a fitting name.

10. They just need to hold a fundraiser. Dubya will be there in a flash.

Don't those goofballs realize that if the student body was to organize a $20,000 per head fund raiser, Dubya would be more than willing to take half an hour out of his busy brush clearing summer schedule to drop by in Air Force1 and pick up his check.

13. This makes me physically ill and depressed.
Dumbya's father, Poppy, is getting an aircraft carrier named after him...and, now Dimson...he gets a school. :-(

And, we all know that eventually, Junior will get a carrier named after him, too. Didn't Adolf Hitler have things named after him?

God, this is so awful!

17. P.S. Whistle Ass
Public School blows out a message: "Kids, even though you were an obnoxious cheerleader, a drunken coke-whore and thief, a deserter in wartime, kicked off of all the boards of all the corporations your anti-Midas touch turned into turds — it doesn't matter. As long as your daddy was America's Secret Policeman, you, too, can grow up to be a smirking stooge for the cabal Sneering Dick Cheney works for.

18. Jeebus H. Chrysler on a frickin' crutch
That's my hometown. Grew up there, got the hell out. Stockton, aka Palookaville, is home to one of the GOP's biggest ATMs, apartment developer and San Diego Chargers owner Alex G. Spanos. It's old-school Caucasian California meets the new Golden State reality—the Hispanics and Asians have the numbers working in their favor now.

Actually, I think that school is in Lodi Unified School District. Lodi, 10 miles north of Stockton (which is 45 miles south of Sacramento), is a white-flight suburb with a very active John Birch Society and an, how do I put this delicately, historic tie to the German fatherland of its founding citizens.

If the school my kid was going to got renamed after that fraud, I'd pull her out of there.

19. No joke, Stockton CA is one of the nastiest armpits of a city I've ever
It's got a horribly high crime rate, a major drug problem and it's just plain awful any way you slice it.

It's a little piece of hell in California.

And now, it just got a little more hellish.
