Blair's 'shameful' treatment of Kelly
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/3190121.stm

28 August, 2003

Tony Blair's evidence at the Hutton inquiry has failed to defuse criticism of the government's treatment of arms expert Dr David Kelly.

<snip>

"The prime minister knew about, and was satisfied with, the underhand treatment of Dr Kelly and the systematic attempt to destroy his reputation both before and after his death."

Mr Kennedy said the prime minister had contradicted himself.

"He said he took responsibility for identifying Dr Kelly to the press, yet, shortly after Dr Kelly died, he told journalists travelling with him that 'emphatically... I did not authorise the leaking of the name of David Kelly'.

So Tony, if this really was a just war, why did you have to smear people who could prove otherwise?

"When was he telling the truth?"

1. This is the story that puts it into perspective for me
Blair, whose public portrait increasingly resembles the wonderful caricatures of him by Steve Bell,

is revealed as a fiend with no sense of shame. Who would have thought he'd turn out to be Dubya's soul mate?

2. now, will shrub be called into court? to answer for blowing the CIA
Edited on Thu Aug-28-03 09:51 PM by amen1234
agent's cover ? (Ambassador Wilson's wife)....blair's interrogation should empower our representatives to follow the British lead and get the shrub into court ASAP...shrub could answer the same questions about evidence for taking OUR Nation to war...and perhaps the seats in court would be reserved for the dead soldiers' relatives....
