6. Thanks, I was wondering what it was about. Looked up the
tilde and one of its meanings is "referred to before" I thought you might be telling me this was a dupe.

4. What's amazing in how both the Republicans and Democrats....
had bought into the "massive shift to the Right in America" bullshit pushed by the Neocons. They should have all
anticipated the response that their interference with Terri Schiavo would have, but they did not. I don't believe
this country has shifted substantially to the Right. The Right has gotten way more vocal (it helps that they own
virtually all the broadcast media), and many folks were conned by Bush after 9/11, but that era is ending.

We have a long history in this country of Religious Fanaticism, and an equally long history of the
majority of the people resisting their attempts to influence the direction of the nation.

Thank god Schiavo fiasco was a wake-up call for our elected officials.

8. also, most people could relate to this issue
they either had been in this situation, knew someone who had, or could see themselves being in this situation in the future......not all of us know what we would do but most of us know one thing for sure - we would not like politicians making our personal decisions

7. Fascinating -- the banner ads for that source
... are :puke: ... "Meet Republican Singles" ... "Republican Humor Podcast", "170+ Republican and Conservative T-shirts" .... etc ... yet they have a scathing op ed like this.

I'm confused.

11. St. Pete Times is a liberal paper. I don't think the web ads are
their content. This was not an op-ed, it was the banner headline story at the top of the front page of Sunday's paper. Schiavo was a local story here for a long time before the holy rollers took it national.
