Big Brother Is Watching

Many law abiding citizens are incredulous that their own government is spying upon them; and rightly so. They are mystified that anyone could place them under suspicion of being a terrorist. Few of them have ever been convicted of a crime in their lives. So why does the government consider us a threat to national security?

To understand the question one has to comprehend the deranged minds of those who are investigating us. One must appreciate that some of the people who are running the government have hearts as dark as a black hole and nearly as turbulent. Their minds are a swirling vortex of infection and paranoia—a condition which separates them from healthy people. It is also an affliction that makes them extremely dangerous.

By national security they do not mean the security of ordinary Americans from foreign enemies, as one might reasonably suppose. They mean the financial security and privilege enjoyed by the rich and powerful. You see, in the lexicon of the privileged, we are the enemy. The rich and powerful hold in their hands the entire pie and they have no intention of sharing any of it with us. The peons (working class people) are supposed to be content to scramble for the few crumbs that fall from the tables of the rich. The peons are supposed to act as mere servants to power. We are supposed to be content with crumbs and serving as cannon fodder in wars not of our making. It has always been so in America. Our history bears it out.

We have come to a place in history where government is no longer a servant of the people. Government has been perverted into a tool of the obscenely wealthy—the corporations. It is used to control the masses; to insulate the rich and powerful from the rest of us.

Back in the late 80s, I went so far as to request any information the government has on me through the FOIA. I ended up getting one very heavily censored copy of a news article where I gave a quote as a high school attendee at a rally against cruise missiles two years earlier. The really silly thing was that the name of the newspaper and date of publication was censored as well; silly because any well equipped library could have turned up the very same article (aside from the fact that I had several clips myself in my conscientious objector materials.)

Even so, the mere act of requesting information creates a file. If the government came back with "we have nothing", I would still be able to say for certain that such a file was made once my request had been processed.

Maybe I should inquire again. I have little doubt that the file has been greatly expanded in the last 20 years :eyes:
