NY Post: White House Free-Fall
June 5, 2006 -- The latest Quinnipiac University poll has President Bush at his lowest point ever: 35 percent.

The poll also ranks Bush as the worst president since World War II (Ronald Reagan being judged the "best.")

So how did a president re-elected 19 months ago with a majority of the popular vote manage to fall so far so fast?

May we suggest leadership - or the perceived lack of it?

Notwithstanding Rupert Murdoch's cozying up to Hillary, the Post is still a conservative paper. For them to repeat the "worst President since World War II" line from the Quinnipiac poll is a telling point.

1. I'm surprised at the high marks for Reagan
IMO, Dubya is the only thing keeping Reagan from being the worst President since Nixon.

And don't ask me about that "great communicator" stuff. At his best, Reagan sounds to me like the great-uncle that no one wants to talk to at the family reunion.

Maybe it's a generational thing, but his vaunted charisma is lost on me.

3. Bush
Maybe we can call Bush 'The Great Mis-communicator.' Sounds better than blubbering idiot.

10. I completely agree with you
Reagan was a complete and utter buffoon. However, if you had told me in the 1980s that I would be GLAD to have him back, I would have called you a liar. . . . How sad that I would happily exchange the ridiculous charlatan we have squatting in the WH for the buffoon from the 1980s. . . .

I think the reason people choose Reagan as the "greatest president" is because they hear such nonsense from the media non-stop. I guarantee that the majority of persons extolling Reagan's virtues weren't even old enough to vote at the time. They just hear that he was a 'great communicator' and are incapable of any critical thinking.

Anyway, we DO actually have someone who makes the senile, old Reagan look wise. Who ever would have thought that would be possible?

2. Joe Scarborough -
"help me, I can't see out of my eye slits" - said on the Today Show this morning that Bush was at 29%. This poll seems higher than any I've heard about. What's the deal here?

4. No argument here about boosh being the worst.
How Raygun could be judged 'the best' is beyond any logic in the dimension I reside in. Alzheimer's for how long before actually being diagnosed or before it became public knowledge? Nancy consulting psychics to help with decisions that she shouldn't have been involved with anyway. Iran/Contra? The list is much longer of course....

LOL I know the point of the article is boosh's ineptitude, sorry but raygun still pisses me off.

boosh free falling:

there are a lot of people in the govenrment that work hard to make sure things get done the right way, but they can't do it forever and cover for this incompetent idiot, and it is certainly visible now
