GENE C. GERARD

Late last month a Food and Drug Administration advisory panel unanimously recommended approval of a vaccine for the human papilloma virus (HPV). The vaccine appears to be 100 percent effective at protecting against the most prevalent viruses that cause cervical cancer. While public health professionals view the vaccine as miraculous, many conservative organizations opposed it on the grounds that it might encourage promiscuity among adolescent girls. Now that it appears certain that the FDA will approve the vaccine, conservatives are attempting to discourage its use.

11. It also causes cancers in the anus, tongue, tonsils and pharynx
Cervical cancer vaccine prevents other cancers, study finds

A vaccine against cervical cancer also prevents other types of gynecological cancers and could lower the incidence of tumors in the head and neck, too, according to a new study released Sunday.

"If we vaccinate everybody in the U.S., we could probably impact head and neck cancer in approximately 20 years," said Marshall R. Posner, an associate professor at Harvard Medical School and medical director of the head and neck oncology program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

The virus, however, has also been found in cancers of the tongue, tonsils and pharynx, said Stuart Wong, an assistant professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin who practices at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital.

2. yes, they're sooooo terrified their daughters are gonna FUCK
they're blinded to the fact that married women get this one from husbands.

If anything shows how sick and twisted with hatred toward female children these assholes are, it's the fight to keep a lifesaving vaccine off the market.

3. Screw the conservatives. Let them all get cancer & let the rest of us
get vaccinated.

Stupid conservatives: the conservative kids have really high STD and pregnancy rates. So much for abstinence training.

4. You wacky liberal
and all your use medical inventions to help mankind nonsense. A funny ealier post talking about how junior high kids were out fucking in the streets when they heard the vaccine had been approved.

I intensely believe that "conservatives" are a pure cancer whose number one target is our constitution.

I just love all the signs on trees and electric poles around here: DNA and Drug Testing and a 1-800 number. Guess ya gotta find out who your babies daddy is.

5. Epilepsy is really demons inhabiting your body
If we have medicine that treats it and makes episodes less traumatic and more controlable, we're really ignoring the overall situation - specifically the stain on the souls of these so-called epileptics.

6. Well leaches are not as bad as we think
Back to the Middle ages with these people, that is until they get ill. Hard to believe some of these people. We should take their modern trucks and guns away as I am sure they are also works of the devil.

7. Purity? Who are they going to commit incest, rape and abuse on then?
These bastards wouldn't know purity if it pissed on their shoes. And they are the most vicious when it comes to incest, sexual abuse and rape...as we all well know. Those who preach against sex are usually the ones getting it in the most disgusting of ways...

9. I favor common sense over stupidity
I sometimes fear I have no more chance of getting my wish than these people have of getting their wish regarding "purity."

I do like the idea of pointing out that HPV affects men, too. Cause when something happens to men, it's real you know. Not like when it happens to silly women.

10. So you actually trust the FDA that the vaccine is safe?
Will you (if you're female) take it? Maybe it will be the next thalomide or maybe even vioxx (spelling?).
