1. Franken commented on it the other day
The same day he mocked Beck mercilessly.

2. They need the ad revenue
Yeah, I hate the ads too. But think about it. What percentage of AAR listeners are likely to tune in for Beck's show? No one but the freeper trolls that occasionally call in to hassle the AAR hosts. And they'd probably listen to that drek anyway. So Beck and CNN are wasting their ad money, and putting it in the pockets of the AAR stations.

6. AAR is a business. CNN is a customer.
It's probably, sad to say, a win win situation. AAR (or its stations) pockets the ad revenues, and CNN gets at least a few angry progressives to sneak a peek at a guy they wouldn't bother crapping on, otherwise.

Since I already hate Nancy Grace's show with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns, to me Glenda Beck is not any great change to what used to be a mere irritation of a cable channel.

Let's face it--Headline News always sucked. It was junk new; now it's junk punditry.

3. Al said that CNN did a buy
of commercials, but could decide on their content. Why in the world they thought AAR listeners would tune into Beck is beyond me. But I look at it this way: CNN is giving money to AAR and really getting little or nothing in return. Better I have to listen to this blowhard's promo than someone impressionable who might think he was ok and actually tune in to watch.

4. only possible reason to do it is inhibit hosts with fear of losing revenue
if they goof on their right wing advertisers too much.

But I heard Ed Schultz address the Glen Beck commercials too, in much the same way Al did.

So it's having little affect on them and less on the listeners.

Good investment for CNN--almost as good as hiring that brainless sack of shit.

5. thanks for reminding me to write to CNN again re not watching
I already dropped a scathing message to CNN that I had turned them off until Beck was OFF their network, back when he first crawled out of his slime-hole--
Now I need to drop them another e-mail, to the effect that I am NOT impressed by their ads on AAR and in fact all they do is remind me of why I haven't watched CNN since they installed that colossal piece of fecal matter as a "comentator."
