KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan President Hamid Karzai urged the international community to reassess its approach to the war on terror Thursday, saying the deaths of hundreds of Afghans in fighting with U.S.-led forces was “not acceptable.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. military announced the deaths of four American soldiers in eastern Afghanistan.

A clearly frustrated Karzai said the approach being taken by coalition forces to hunt down militants does not focus on the roots of terrorism itself.

1. Poor Hamid Karzai.
He knows the US does not take him seriously. Why not? Because he's a puppet. He has only 1 job: to please Washington. The minute he doesn't he's out.

The real problem for Karzai is that everybody knows this. He's so unpopular that he can't even go out on the street.

I would not get into a car with this man.

3. he's mad because of the pipeline deal falling thru ....
he had a deal with Pakistan and one of the other stans (Tukistani???) for a pipeline to the Indian Sea, but it depended on the U.S. to stablize the country. However, since the U.S. doesn't want that (that oil could end up in China and Pakistan would have control over some of the oil going to India,) instead the U.S. wants the pipeline to go thru some of the other stans into some of the former Soviet republics to the Mediterrden (spelling) Sea ... which would put the oil in Europe's and the U.S.'s hands

Thus oil-wise, the current approach is a good one for the U.S.
