In his speech, Perez Roque stated that Cuba reached this election with almost 30,000 physicians saving lives and alleviating pain in 70 nations, while Washington was busy with 150,000 soldiers sent to kill and die on an unfair and illegal war.
While 300,000 eye patients from 26 Latin American countries have received free ophthalmologic surgery, the United States has over 100,000 civilians murdered and 2,500 young people dead in a war whose aim is to steal oil from a country.
While Cuban planes transport physicians and field hospitals to places of natural disasters or epidemics, the United States secretly transports drugged prisoners, said the Cuban diplomat.
A few months before of the 14th NAM Summit of Heads of States and Government to be run September 11-16 in this capital, Havana is fostering permanent mechanisms of support in the movement.
Important for Cuba is the NAM commitment to not participate in unilateral initiatives against the UN Charter, and defend multilateralism as a way to solve problems in the international context.
Kudos to the good people of Cuba.
