Bush 'brainwashed' Blair over Iraq
BRITISH Prime Minister Tony Blair was in favour of announcing a timetable to pull troops out of Iraq, but was "brainwashed" out of it by US President George W. Bush, Iraq's Vice President said in a speech in New York today.

Tareq al-Hashemi told New York's Council on Foreign Relations that when he spoke to Mr Blair about three months ago, the British leader was supportive of his appeal for the US and Britain to say when they would withdraw.

"I had just convinced him," Mr Hashemi said. "He promised he was going to discuss the subject with President Bush, but at the end of the day, it's quite unfortunate, that your president (made) some sort of brainwashing of Mr Blair."

But Mr Hashemi also said any withdrawal of troops should be conditional on US training of Iraq's security forces.

1. Brainwashed by Bush? Browbeaten, more likely.
Brainwashing takes some skill & credibility on the part of the 'washer. Bush's diplomatic & persuasive skills stop at intimidation.

2. Let's see, first he charmed him to get him into the war
Now he's brainwashed him, to keep him from getting out.

Sounds to me like there's an island nation lacking in sound leadership.

3. Bush.....the "Snake Charmer" ...he looks deeply into your eyes and sees your
soul...then the "charm" is upon you.

Give me a break! Blair is a grown man...it was his choice to become "Bush's Poodle." BLECH!!!

4. Bush couldn't brainwash a cantalope...
Shouldn't the "brainwasher" be smarter than the "brainwashee"??

5. That's what I was thinking. But then again, maybe there really
isn't any brain matter between the two of them.

6. It was a very small load.
Blair has a much bigger vocabulary than Bush, but I'm more and more convinced that his actual brainpower is pretty negligable. This is a guy who continually gets outwitted by a retarded chimpanzee.
