Dems Could Do Far More to End Iraq War
Dems Could Do Far More to End Iraq War
by Jim VandeHei and John F. Harris

snip//

We’re not in the business of giving politicians advice.

But it’s a simple truth, whether you support the war or not: There is a lot more Democrats could do to change, or at least challenge, the politics of the war in Washington, even if they do not have the numbers to impose new policies on President Bush.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) could force a vote a day over Iraq. She could keep the House in session all night, over weekends and through planned vacations.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) could let filibusters run from now till Christmas rather than yield to pro-war Republicans.

Such tactics might or might not be politically sensible, but in their absence, anti-war lawmakers can hardly say they have done everything possible to challenge the war and bring attention to their cause.

Lawmakers over the past generation have threatened and sometimes carried out such extreme parliamentary maneuvers over less consequential matters than dying soldiers.

3. I think its more of a financial decision.
Dennis Kucinich is consistently standing up against things like the patriot act, the war for oil and the hunt oil scheme in Iraq and they haven't killed or threatened him enough? I think its all about selling your soul for financial and power gains. Ever see the commercials with Bush sr. and Bill together, I bet they talk more than we think. They want to stay in power and keep their great wealth at the costs of average Americans that physically run the country for them so they can enjoy the freedoms of America.

It doesn't make sense that they all looked at the evidence in 2002, some had privileges to more than others and the only person that took a stand and said it was about oil, was Dennis Kucinich. Strangely enough, its the same guy that continues to stand up and speak for the American people on the major issues. They would have killed him in 2002 if it were that bad, they are bought and paid for and no one wants to admit it to themselves. When people finally wake up to whats happening, there probably wont be any Dennis Kucinichs around or our rights will have been abused even more and we will have no say.

Wonder why the media totally ignores him and his messages? Even if you say he is crazy or something, why doesnt the media spread his messages, we all agree with him on most of the important issues?
