Rudy Giuliani: Criminal or Liar?
Edited on Wed Nov-14-07 05:44 PM by marmar
From In These Times:

Rudy Giuliani: Criminal or Liar?
An investigation into Guiliani’s claims of familiarity with “intensive questioning” techniques
By Lindsay Beyerstein

Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani raised serious questions about his record as a public servant when he announced on television that he had used “intensive questioning techniques” on New York mobsters and other criminals, and that his brand of intensive interrogation was difficult to differentiate from torture.

Giuliani put on his best tough-guy act in an interview with Al Hunt on “Political Capital with Al Hunt,” which aired on Nov. 2:

I can’t say that I , but I do know a lot about intensive questioning and intensive questioning techniques. After all, I have had a different experience than John. John has never run city, never run a state, never run a government. He has never been responsible as a mayor for the safety and security of millions of people, and he has never run a law enforcement agency, which I have done. Now, intensive questioning works. If I didn’t use intensive questioning, there would be a lot of mafia guys running around New York right now and crime would be a lot higher in New York than it is. Intensive question has to be used. Torture should not be used. The line between the two is a difficult one.

Taken at face value, these are shocking revelations. Was Giuliani implying that he conducted these interrogations while he was Mayor? Or perhaps when he was the number three official in the Reagan Justice Department? The references to “mafia guys” and the New York crime rate may be an attempt to evoke Giuliani’s career as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he made a name for himself as mafia-busting prosecutor.

In These Times called Giuliani’s press office seven times over the course of 48 hours, seeking clarification about his remarks. These calls and messages were unreturned as of press time.

It’s not clear exactly what techniques might fall under Giuliani’s rubric of “intensive questioning.” However, Giuliani said that the techniques that he favors are difficult to differentiate from torture.

It is far-fetched to think that Giuliani learned his enhanced interrogation techniques as mayor of New York. ......(more)

and no responsibilty for things he did.

IF the Dems and MSM go after him like the Freeptards and the MSM went after Gore in 2000 I think the Ghoul will vanish from public life for years.

But only IF the all Dems go after him, day after day after day during the General Election will the MSM pick up on it.

But in answer to your question, he is a cheat and a liar.

4. Lying criminal, malice aforethought.
He knew EXACTLY what was going on with Bernie and he was spending so much time snorting Viagra he forgot he was the mayor of NYC.

7. Both. Which is why the Bushies chose him to hold the throne for them.
I once thought it was ThomBush, but the Kremilinologist/BushPutiniologist in me notices the clear signals by Prince Jeb sending his son to work for future Emperor 9/11ani, not to mention the endorsement of Bushie Bellwether Pat Robertson.

Roberston is not only significant for the fact that he and his flock have assisted immensely in destroying America and making sure the sheep in his flock remain caslm while being shorn (and making sure they have the Jews, errr, Liberals, to blame for it), but for the fact that he is issuing a clear call to the 24-30% who's votes count at least 1.2X compared to maybe 0.95X for a White Democrat and 3/5th of a vote for Black Democrats.

The call is this. Ignore 9/11ani's postions on the issue where they are indistinguishable from Hillary Clinton, because it won't matter. The Imperial Family will be calling the shots, as I am beginning to think they have since they ventilated Jack Kennedy's head in '63, and the current Imperial Faimly was just a crew in the larger Bushie Mob, the way John Gotti started small but one day ran the organization.
