Dennis might be gone, but he's still right
Thursday, January 10, 2008

Until the other day I was pretty sure I was going to vote for Joe Cimperman in the 10th District Democratic primary in March...

Then a reader sent me a link to a column on The Huffington Post about The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorist Bill, the latest piece of "proactive" anti-terror legislation, and I changed my mind.

This bill, which is of course purposefully vague and could be used to label any group as "homegrown terrorists," recently passed the House by an unbelievable vote of 405-6. Naturally, Kucinich is one of the six, and his single act of common sense in this very important matter has swayed my decision.

Say what you will about Kucinich neglecting his district or chasing windmills, it no longer matters. I don't believe that any of his challengers would have had the nerve to stand up against 405 members of Congress with many more years of experience than they have and vote "no" on this issue...

1. I wish he were my Congressman.
He represents San Francisco values way better than Pelosi.

2. so fsking true
bookmark it. When you get your corporate candidate or the candidate for "change" and four years later we are already on the road to complete fasicm just look back and remember, you could have had someone who rose above all the petty crap. Someone who knew what the issue is and didn't dance around it. Yes no one got behind his bills, not alot of people stood beside him. But he was the one person who believed in this country with all his heart and believed in the people in it.

unfortunatly dennis the people were to wrapped up trying desperatly to believe the lies of the corporate candidates.

3. I've lived in Joe Cimperman's City Council district since before he was even a Councilman.
He was promising at first, but he's become an opportunist and an investor-class toady of the worst kind. NO WAY would he have had the courage to swim against the tide and vote no on that awful bill. And no way would I support him for congress over Dennis.
